Early Life and Background

Born and raised in Hope Hull, Alabama, Langley grew up in a musically inclined family as the second of four children. Her paternal grandparents encouraged her love of music, with her grandfather who could “play every instrument by ear” often sitting her down at the piano before she could even talk. After her grandfather’s death, her father restrung his guitar and gifted it to her when she was 14; that same night, she taught herself to play Bob Marley’s “Three Little Birds”.

Career and Achievements

Langley moved to Nashville in 2019 and signed a publishing deal with Sony Music Publishing in 2021, followed by a record deal with Sony Music Nashville and Columbia Records in 2023. She made her Grand Ole Opry debut in February 2023 and released her debut EP, Excuse the Mess, that May.

Her debut album, Hungover (2024), featured the breakthrough duet “You Look Like You Love Me” with Riley Green, which became her first Platinum-certified No. 1 on country radio making her the only woman to achieve that milestone in 2024. Her follow-up single “Weren’t for the Wind” became her second country radio No. 1.

Langley’s sophomore album, Dandelion, released in April 2026, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and was led by the viral smash “Choosin’ Texas,” which became her first No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. She made history as the first female country singer to simultaneously occupy the top two spots on the Hot 100, with “Choosin’ Texas” at No. 1 and “Be Her” at No. 2. She recently swept seven categories at the ACM Awards.

Why She Is In the News

Langley is in the news after announcing an extension of her sold-out “Dandelion Tour,” adding 21 new dates including a stop at Lincoln’s Pinnacle Bank Arena on October 30, 2026. She’ll be joined by special guests Gabriella Rose and Laci Kaye Booth in Lincoln.

Conclusion

Ella Langley has become country music’s fastest-rising star, now sitting behind only Morgan Wallen in Spotify monthly listeners among country artists. As she embarks on an extended arena run in support of her chart-topping album Dandelion, the Alabama native continues to prove she’s one of the most exciting new voices in country music and she’s just getting started.
