The YAFO Institute has concluded the 2026 edition of Liberty Sphere, a two-day residential programme that brought together 29 emerging leaders to explore the links between philosophy, free-market economics, public policy, entrepreneurship, research and community action. The Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) says Ghana is not doing enough to reduce gender-based violence and must step up enforcement, investigations and access to justice ahead of its next United Nations human rights review. Deputy Commissioner of CHRAJ, Mercy Larbi, said Ghana received several recommendations on gender-based violence during its 2023 Universal Periodic Review (UPR), which the country accepted and is expected to report on during the next review. The Importers and Exporters Association of Ghana (IEAG) has warned that persistent congestion and operational bottlenecks at Ghana’s ports could push more importers to route their cargo through neighbouring countries, particularly Côte d’Ivoire. The newly established Ghana Sports Fund (GSF) is planning to introduce a pension contribution scheme to provide financial security for Ghanaian athletes after they retire from active competition.
